Design Brief

Design an interaction concept for the future of privacy and cybersecurity. Choose a concrete and narrowly framed situation
and develop an interaction concept that helps users of digital applications, services and man-machine interactions.

As privacy has become an increasing need in our daily lives, we have to innovate better and simpler ways of securing information. Whether it is confidential information at workplace, or a private discussion, communicating on time, regardless of the space you are in is important. 

Calls and online meetings frequently happen in the public, and so we need to find a way to avoid such breach of sensitive information.

solve our problem?

We wanted to design a wearable to protect users from breach of information while making phone calls on the go.
Our concept is a mask design based on the technology of noise isolation which is both a physical and a natural way of blocking noise using soundproofing. Mute Me is equipped with microphones, and headphones, and offers simple natural gestures for interaction.

Who is our Target Audience?

Our target group includes professionals in business, medicine, law, and psychology where privacy and security is of utmost importance while interacting with clients. Mute Me can also be used by just about anybody who wants to make private conversations while in a public environment.

Designing the Prototype
& Interactions

Mute Me introduces an inventive wearable that redefines personal privacy. This remarkable noise-isolating mask snugly encircles the nose and mouth, seamlessly integrating headphones and a microphone.

It help the users make confidential calls and share information privately via phone regardless of where they are!

Sterilizing &
Charging Case

A compact Mute Me case equipped with UV-C light destroys germs and bacteria. Charge the Mute Me mask inside the case. A green light indicates the battery level.

Mute Me App

Mute Me mobile app allows the user to connect to smart devices. With the app, the user may switch on/off, mute/unmute. Users may also use intuitive gesture controls.

One may also keep track of the battery level, set voice and language with the app.

 At an event co-hosted by Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) and Spiegel Institute on November 11, 2021, we proudly presented our Mute Me concept, aligning perfectly with the theme 'Design in our online world: trust, ethics, integrity,' offering a glimpse into a future where privacy meets innovation.
